We had an opportunity to see the opening show of the amazing Broadway musical Wicked!
At 7pm on 18th Sept Auckland was transformed into New Zealand’s own emerald city, as Jay Laga’aia (The Wizard) and Mayor, Len Brown, jointly pushed the plunger to bathe Auckland Town Hall, the Aotea Centre and Aotea Square, and the Civic theatre in green light.
We were delighted meeting the Auckland cast, musicians, crew and had a chance interviewing them. The show was just spectacular bringing an amazing story to life for the people of New Zealand. See the exclusive VIDEO below!

WICKED, the untold story of the witches of Oz, features music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and book by Winnie Holzman, and is based on the best-selling novel by Gregory Maguire. Even the creator himself (Stephen) went crazy for New Zealand WICKED, springing on his feet in a full standing ovation as the show hit it’s final.
Storyline: One, born with emerald-green skin, is smart, fiery and misunderstood. The other is beautiful, ambitious and very popular. How these two unlikely friends end up as the Wicked Witch of the West and Glinda the Good makes for the most spellbinding new musical in years.
