Raw chocolate orange cake

Here is a really yummy orange chocolate raw cake recipe made out of 3 layers.

Base

  • 3/4 cup almonds
  • 1/4 cup macadamia or Brazilian nuts
  • 1/8 teaspoon sea salt
  • 6 soft dates, pitted and chopped
  • 1/4 cup of carob powder
Make the date paste by blending the dates with a bit of water. Add the rest of the ingredients. Add it in to a cake tin.

Cream 1

  • 1/2 cup orange zest
  • 2 cups cashews, soaked until soft (4+ hours)
  • 1 1/4 cup coconut oil, melted
  • 1 cup fresh orange juice (approximately 2 oranges, maybe more)
  • 2/3  cup raw agave nectar (i didn’t add agave because the oranges were so sweet already)
  • pinch of Vanilla
First blend the cashews than add the rest of the ingredients, except the coconut oil! Add it when you have the cream and blend for a few seconds. Add it onto the base.

Cream 2 “Nutella”

  • 1/2 cup cashews, soaked until soft (4+ hours)
  • 1/2 cup hazelnuts
  • 3 tbs of raw chocolate powder
  • 1/2 cup of almond/ coconut/ any other milk
  • 1 cup coconut oil or cacao butter, melted
  • pinch of Vanilla
  • 2/3 raw maple syrup

First blend the cashews than add the rest of the ingredients, except the coconut oil! Add it when you have the cream and blend for a few seconds. Add it onto Cream 1.

Refrigerate overnight!
