Day 4 is already behind us, time is flying by so fast I can’t believe it! Waking up was tough today, but each time I dress up in my chef’s uniform I get an amazing energy boost. At Matthew Kenney Cuisine I know I’ll be learning healthy art and end up eating it as well, could it be more perfect?
So today my knife skills were a bit on the wild side, meaning they were acting like fussy children who don’t listen… So right now I’m looking at chef’s YouTube tutorials and mentally preparing on a better presentation for tomorrow. I’m determined on making my knife as a second part of my right hand!
Next up on our culinary schedule was making dehydrated tamari almonds, raw rolls, rosemary croutons, raw “parmesan” cheese, pickled cucumbers etc. We did a lot today! My favorite was the Oaxaca smoothie it was just divine tasting. So I figured if we were doing another smoothie today I’ll let you enjoy another recipe I really like to make at home.
- ½ cup almond milk
- ½ cup coconut milk
- ½ banana
- 1 Tbsp cacao powder
- ½ tsp vanilla
- 1 serving pea protein powder
- ½ Tbsp maca (to get those hormones balanced)
- *You can also add 1 Tbsp of almond butter or peanut butter
Blend away healthy foodies! Decorate with chocolate nibs.
I love the first week of my stay here in Santa Monica, I love my new daily routine; from my bike ride to the bus, to the bus driver yelling at me that I’m too slow at getting the bike adjusted on the bus, my chef’s uniform, my mid day café latte with almond milk, my new healthy foodie friends, my host, my new knowledge, new tastes, new ideas and that every day looks the same but it’s actually completely different!
